In the spring of 2021, I flew to a mastermind event in the middle of nowhere Missouri. I didn’t know a single person, just saw an opportunity and said yes. Looking back, I realize I didn’t go to Missouri to find a mastermind. I went to find myself in a room of people who saw me.

That trip changed everything. It’s where the Boss Babes tribe was born.

Fast forward to today, and that little group has become a circle of powerful women in business. We started with a shared thread in real estate, but as life unfolded, we each evolved. Seven retreats across the country. Countless birthdays, babies, and business wins. Divorces, grief, and even the loss of one of our own. Dream homes purchased. Cross-country moves navigated. Hard days and harder conversations. And always—someone cheering, someone listening, someone showing up.

Sometimes life gives you your people early, maybe even right in your hometown. And sometimes, you have to get on airplanes to find them.

But here’s what I know for sure: while entrepreneurship can be isolating, it doesn’t have to be lonely. We retreat inward, convinced no one gets it. The noise in our heads grows louder than our hearts. But the truth is, the world is filled with entrepreneurs, small business owners, and people figuring it out—just like you. My challenge to you this week is simple: find your people. The ones who cheer when you win and pour the wine when you don’t. Maybe that looks like a mastermind. Maybe it’s the business owners down the street. Maybe it’s a group that starts with one coffee date.
